Deadlines Never End

An Erasmus plus projects deadline, specifically the one in the field of youth, has just passed with all its obstacles offered by the official platform.
Yet it is already time to face the next deadlines offered by the Erasmus Plus Program: Adult Education and Sport.

In the field of Adult Education, the reference portal is Epale: up to 32,000 contents are freely available online, including events, resources and articles on specific or transversal themes from the formal, non-formal and informal sectors of adults.
The deadline is March 21, if you want to find out how we can collaborate, look at the bottom of the page.

On 5th April 2019 we took part in InfoDay Sport, which gathered in Brussels all the potential stakeholders and partners interested in developing projects in this field.
The day was very intense and interesting, particular attention was paid to the ability of the projects to be able to have a real impact on local communities. Who will succeed?
We are pleased to share with you all the materials of the day, useful for all those who want to approach the design of new proposals. Click here to download the materials

How to prepare to a Mobility Project proposal

We are getting closer to the first deadline of 2019 for the K1 Erasmus Plus – mobility projects and it’s time to start planning new proposals.

Our experience from the last years has led us to anticipate it. In the beginning we were in fact characterized by long sleepless nights made of “copy and paste”, endless waiting for the mandates from the partners and the last minute revisions.

It was normal, and I think it happened to everyone.

However, over the years we have managed to progressively advance phases of submitting a project, keeping ever-increasing quality for every aspect. The experience has led us to plan the work in advance, defining a very precise timetable for the various actions to be done. We noticed that, almost magically, even our partners have started to organise themselves better, making the whole process much smoother and more sustainable.

Here are some tips – the result of our experience – you can follow when submitting a mobility project:

  • Having a strong and defined project idea, which fully expresses your mission and is in line with the priorities of the Erasmus Plus Program. The historical authenticity of the project theme is also very important. Everyone notices immediately if a project proposal derives from another past project or another organization. The authenticity of the project is also achieved by the consistency within your history, mission and ordinary activities that are carried out at the international and / or local level.
  • Building a credible and real partnership: a regular and efficient cooperation between partners is a vital element for the good preparation of a project. All the members must demonstrate that they can establish and pursue an strong partnership, whith common objectives and values. The construction of a relationship based on trust is something that is nurtured with time and not only closed to the deadlines.
  • Methodology: the project must lead to the acquisition / enhancement of skills by promoting socio-educational and personal development of the participants. These goals must be achieved through non-formal and informal learning. Numerous non-formal learning methods and techniques can be applied to address different needs of the participants and achieve the desired results. The daily activity program and working methods should involve the participants as much as possible, triggering a peer learning process.
  • Program: The project in its different phases and in particular the activity program must be clearly defined, realistic, balanced and consistent with the objectives and characteristics of the young people involved.

From the neighborhood to Europe in search of identity

Not always the evolution of an organization follows a clear, linear and pre-established logic. Sometimes it’s a destiny that guides us, perhaps luck or probably our ability to catch the opportunities that we encounter.

And that’s the case of us, creators of the “Effective Planning” – a method born from the decades of experience of the L’ORMA, a professional agency that for years has worked locally in the world of sport and education of young people .

Born as the Amateur Sport Association in Milan in 2000, L’ORMA, distinguishes itself from other sport associations as it doesn’t have a sport center, doesn’t organize mono-disciplinary sports courses (football, volleyball etc.) and doesn’t base its workforce on volunteers.

Since the beginning L’ORMA has believed in sport as a tool of a multidisciplinary training and growth of the youth, investing in itself and approaching the world in an entrepreneurial way. Each of its projects immediately got an economic sustainability, which has imposed on all the staff to acquire all the necessary skills to conduct the organization at an entrepreneurial level (skills related to administration, marketing, communication, etc.).

All this has differed enormously from the Italian amateur sport scene made of “sport only”, volunteering and little professionalism.

The L’ORMA therefore, far from the Italian amateur sport world, in some ways similar to social cooperatives (sharing projects, but distinguishing for purposes and modalities) in some ways similar to the world of private agencies, maintains a strong element of a non-profit nature that has worked for years in Milan and Lombardy. In other words it would be called “identity crisis”. ☺

And so it was only in 2014 that L’ORMA came into contact with the Erasmus+ world, immediately feeling an enormous affinity with the organizations operating in this context and more generally, with the objectives and values of the whole program.

A program through which Europe wants to invest in itself, intends to improve skills of all those who work in the world of education and sport (but not only) and therefore give countless opportunities to all of us.

For years, the L’ORMA has been the protagonist of the Youth, Adult and Sport sectors, with many approved projects and numerous fruitful collaborations. After many years it has finally managed to make the most of the local experiences and skills, giving its initiatives an international level and having a real and structured impact.

That’s how, through a natural development path, L’ORMA searches for a new challenge.

It’s time to share the knowledge and the skills with all organizations that intend to strùart a professional career in the field of the European project design.

Hence the idea of the EFFECTIVE PLANNING, a method that will guide you step by step to create within your organization a sector dedicated to European projects; to make it grow and to bring it to an entrepreneurial level, bringing concrete benefits to the local and international environment.

We can’t wait to share it with you… And we are only at the beginning.
